Their estates represent three generations of Antique collectors. Elva S. Weatherford is the daughter of Charles B. and Elva Sanders, the second owners of #6 Courtland Place. Built-in 1909, #6 Courtlandt Place was the initial home built in the first elite neighborhood in Houston. John and Elva Weatherford inherited many of the furnishings - German porcelain, French Antiques, clocks, and paintings that donned the walls and rooms of #6 Courtlandt Place. In addition, John and Elva also inherited antiques belonging to Elva S. Weatherford's grandparents who were the owners of the historic McKinney-McDonald House on Winnie Street in Galveston - featured most recently on the annual Galveston Historical Homes Tour.
