the Estate of Dr John E. Weatherford
& the Living Estate of Elva Sanders Weatherford
Their estates represent three generations of Antique collectors. Elva S. Weatherford is the daughter of Charles B. and Elva Sanders, the second owners of #6 Courtland Place. Built-in 1909, #6 Courtlandt Place was the initial home built in the first elite neighborhood in Houston. John and Elva Weatherford inherited many of the furnishings - German porcelain, French Antiques, clocks, and paintings that donned the walls and rooms of #6 Courtlandt Place. In addition, John and Elva also inherited antiques belonging to Elva S. Weatherford's grandparents who were the owners of the historic McKinney-McDonald House on Winnie Street in Galveston - featured most recently on the annual Galveston Historical Homes Tour.
